By the way, I appreciate the history on Norton Ghost as I wondered what had happened to that program. Hopefully all will go as well for me as it did for you, JONin92656. I image that if my SSD was “Optane” it would have been clearly stated. There was no reference to “Optane Memory” in the SSD description. I have a solid state drive (Lenovo T550, 2015). If autodetection does not prevent a conflict, then it is possible to resolve it by disabling the protection that Acronis True Image offers so that Norton is primary.

#Acronis true image 2015 slow software
In almost all scenarios, Acronis True Image works side by side with any security software.Acronis True Image works with any other security software- it does not conflict.JONin92656 – Your post seems to confirm what Acronis Tech Support told me:

If someone thinks I am assuming too much, please let me know. But the Acronis comment is a little vague. I *think* that the suggestion to uninstall third-party antivirus is suggested when a user plans to enable Acronis antimalware. The Acronis autodetection feature will hopefully prevent enabling conflicting Acronis security features. The primary suggestion to “disable one or the other” Is understood as a given. The internal Acronis document cited by Imacri was helpful and the Acronis tech support agent I spoke to late yesterday mentioned the same article. Peterweb – Thanks for the cross-reference to Imacri’s response to Calif-Rogue. Of course presales tech support is not always objective, so I greatly appreciate your responses. I also spoke by chat with tech support at Acronis after my post. Then again, you could always purchase your own cloud storage device from Fry's or Micro Center or wherever and not have to worry about the cloud storage feature in Acronis and Norton. Doing so simultaneously could slow your computer down as they back things up. I would suggest not using the backup feature in Norton 360 at the same time as the cloud storage in Acronis, if at all. I have used both and they go well together. As far as problems using Acronis with Norton 360, you should have no problems at all. All they seem to see is the reserved drive and the backup drive and that makes them useless.

From my experience, the backup programs that I have used can't seem to find the c:\ drive when the Optane Memory is enabled. Anyway, your Acronis program is excellent at what it does and you will have no problems at all backing up your PCs unlessyour computer has Optane Memory. It was taken over by Veritas and now goes under the Veritas name). It looks and works like Norton Ghost with some added features.

(Sidenote: Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 is nothing more than the "updated" Norton Ghost designed to work with Windows 8.0, 8.1, and 10. So is Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 and both these programs work very well with Windows 10. Acronis True Image 2021 is a very good program. I am fanatical about backing up everything - the OS, programs, and data and that is what Acronis lets you do in the form of an image. Hi EEH, I just wanted to weigh in here with my opinions.
